Exploring open badges for the self-directed learner
Badges are a digital credential – a visual representation of a skill or achievement earned by an individual through specific projects, programmes, courses or other activities. Open Badges makes it easy for any organisation to issue, manage and display digital badges across the web. An individual can have an online backpack to store their badges and can then display them in a range of locations on the web. This chat explores the value of badges for the self-directed learner.

PKMChat being about Personal Knowledge Management encompass Knowledge lifecycle in general. Our first chat was about learning, acquiring Knowledge. Our second is about sharing it. Week after weeks we will switch from one end of the lifecycle to another while exploring all the channels that could be used: social, formal, writing, videos. Feel free to suggest topics by tweeting to @pkmchat.
